Rochester, MN - In 2018, First Alliance Credit Union became the first business to join the Paws and Claws Humane Society’s Guardian Angel Program by sponsoring pets available for adoption. The credit union is once again covering adoption fees for pets currently available at Paws & Claws, Dolche, a senior Pomeranian with age related health issues,  a shy young cat named Ryan, and two young sister dogs, Deliliah and Alyria.

Paws & Claws Humane Society has been a safe haven for homeless pets for over 40 years, and is the largest animal shelter in South East Minnesota that does not limit the stay of the animals in its care. Paws & Claws is funded completely on public donations and receives no federal, state, county or city funds.

Along with covering adoption fees for Dolche, Ryan, Deliliah and Alyria, First Alliance Credit Union has again pledged to donate 10lbs of pet food to Paws & Claws for every new membership account opened at the credit union in June. Last year, the credit union was able to donate 2,000lbs of food to the shelter through their initiative, this year they are aiming for 3,000lbs.

First Alliance Credit Union’s President/CEO Michael Rosek said, “Our staff are all animal lovers, and we are excited to support Paws & Claws Humane Society once again. Paws & Claws has been a valuable resource in our community and we are proud to support their mission.”

To extend their giving throughout the year, the credit union has introduced a new savings account to help pet owners save and plan for their pet related expenses, and with each new pet account opened the credit union will donate $10 to Paws & Claws.

Tanya Johnson, Shelter Manager at Paws & Claws Humane Society shared her gratitude for the credit union’s support by saying, “We are very appreciative of First Alliance’s ongoing friendship and generosity to Paws & Claws, our animals, and our mission.”
