If you’re a First Alliance Credit Union member, you might be aware of the My Cards feature. You might also know how it will let you know about all the features it has that will help you protect your identity and limit usage of the card. What you may not know, though, is just we are updating the My Cards feature to make managing your credit cards easier.

The upgrade will be April 12, 2023, and if you’re a current My Cards user, you should know it will be unavailable for up to 24 hours beforehand. Once the upgrade is complete, just make sure your First Alliance Credit Union mobile app is updated, then tap “My Cards” within the mobile app to get started using the My Cards upgrade.

More Transaction Details

When you get the My Cards upgrade, you’ll get more than the date, time and amount of each transaction. If you made the transaction in person, you’ll also get to see where the transaction took place on Google Maps, along with the business’s name and address. From there, depending on the merchant, you might also be able to see:

  • Business logo
  • Contact information
  • Hours of Operation
  • Website URL

Each transaction will also contain a memo field, and a tag that will let you define the expense as business, personal or family.

More Control Over Transaction Notices

Speaking of transactions, you’ll also get more control over which transaction notices you receive. You can still receive alerts for all card transactions, but you can also only receive alerts for selected transactions. You can decide to receive alerts based on:

  • Location of your phone
  • Predefined areas
  • International transactions

One of the best parts about this aspect of the My Cards upgrade is that you can manually define the areas of the location in which you want to get alerts. You could set it for a strip mall, a certain shop or even a section of a city.

Better Interaction with Digital Wallets

Digital wallets are becoming more and more common, and the My Cards update has taken this into account. Now it’s easier than ever to add debit and credit cards into your digital wallet using My Cards. All you have to do is verify your identity, select the cards you’d like added to your wallet, and My Cards will upload the information and set up your card for digital wallet use without having to get verbal confirmation from First Alliance Credit Union.

Manage Your Rewards

If you’ve got a First Alliance rewards credit card, you’ll be happy to know that the My Cards upgrade will now let you manage your points from your mobile device. You can see how many points you’ve accumulated and redeem them for cash or wide range of other things from spa treatments to cruises.

Get Insights Into Your Spending

The more you know about how you spend your money, the better you can manage it. That’s why the My Cards upgrade gives you a lot more information about your spending habits. You can get a summary of how much you spent each month per card, and My Cards will even group these transactions by category, time and location so you know how much you spend on vacation or when you visited the Apache Mall.FA792_23_Blog_MyCards2

Easier to Replace Lost or Stolen Cards

If your card is lost or stolen, My Cards will make ordering a replacement card easy. Simply report your card as lost or stolen in My Cards to request a new card number, confirm your address and your new card will be on its way.

Of course, having a new card mailed to you doesn’t do much good if you lose your card while traveling. That’s why the upgrade will instantly issue you a new digital card you can add to your digital wallet, which you can use until you get your physical credit card or go to a First Alliance branch to get a new debit card.
